Biography

Ian Leavy is currently working as an ICP-OES and ICP-MS technician, providing ICP analysis in support of numerous projects both within and outside of the ESL group. He is also a secondary operator on other instrumentation such as Ion Chromatographs and the LIBS/Laser Ablation unit. Ian is also involved with sample preparation/digestion, lab and instrument maintenance and data processing/ analysis. His research interests are in Geochemistry and Hydrogeology. During his senior year Ian worked under the supervision of Dr. Carmen Nezat, senior professor of geochemistry at the Eastern Washington University, to investigate isolated cases of private water well contamination by arsenic in the Spokane Washington area. Ian is currently considering universities and topics for graduate studies.
