Biography

Dr. Wang is an environmental hydrogeochemist with expertise specific to soil/sediment/groundwater contamination, contaminant reactive transport, fluid-mineral interactions, as well as contaminates sequestration. His research goal is to understand and predict contaminant transport through geologic media, especially to understand and integrate the basic geochemical processes which control the fate and transport of organic/inorganic contaminants in soils and groundwater. He joined Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) in 2010 and has worked for radionuclides sorption and desorption at the Hanford Site, mineral dissolution/secondary precipitation by leaked caustic tank wastes solution, XMT studies for pore structure changes, radionuclides transport in coastal environment, colloid stability and transport, low-temperature waste form development, 99Tc immobilization through iron oxide minerals transformations, and CO2 intrusion impact on geochemistry of overlying potable drinking aquifers.
